Vegan Casual Potluck
I can’t believe that Friday the 13 and Halloween are occurring in the same month, with stormy weather to top it off. Makes me think of staying home, snuggling up with my hubbie, drinking hot tea and watching good movies. Since I am not feeling super party inspired today, I will talk about food and clothing for a basic, casual vegan potluck. The type of intimate gathering you can have in your home with a relatively small group of friends, a nice fire in the fireplace, some cozy comfort foods and comfortable yet elegant fashion.
For the menu (the key is ease):
Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip
Cream of Broccoli Soup Make sure to have small toasted bread bowls for serving
Twice Baked Potatoes
Vegan Rissotto
Pear Pie
Hot Apple Cidar
Hot Chai Tea–Heat 8 cups of water in a large pot to a boil. Put in 4 chai tea bags. Serve hot with 2 ounces of vanilla almond or hazelnut milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp agave syrup. This is such rich and comforting.
Clothing for this type of an event should be comforable, but still classy, afterall you are entertaining.
So here are a few suggestions.

I love this Madison Short Faux Fur Coat from Nordstroms. It looks so comforting, yet the colors and style are so perfect for fall. Pair that with these great Black Leggings by Liz Clairborne and these ultracool Rumors II Vacation Faux Leather Boots from Somethin’ Else by Skechers and you have a great outfit to wear to your informal potluck event.
