Break out those Credit Cards
The shopping season has descended upon us. I don’t know how many of you out there braved the crowds this past weekend, but there were some great deals to be had. My mom and I slept in a bit this year and didn’t leave the house until 6:30am. We shopped until 4:30pm and several hundreds of dollars later, I had officially made a dent in my shopping list. The hardest part about Christmas shopping, not spending all of your designated Christmas money on yourself. I saw so many things that I wanted to buy. Beautiful jackets, sweaters, pants, shirts, you name it. Though I must say, nothing beats shopping on the internet for shoes. It is where I find the greatest selection of vegan boots, which just happen to top my list of wants for Christmas. I love the fact that you can create a wish list at Zappos.com.
I did buy a couple of things on line. I bought my son a cute chalkboard table, which I am hoping will arrive any day now and an organic buckwheat pillow. It is time for him to get his first big boy pillow. This week, I will be cleaning his room while he is at school and clearing out many of his old toys to make room for the new stuff. I have to do this while he is at school or he will declare every toy his favorite toy that he just can’t live without.
The best part about this time of year, unabandoned shopping with your husband’s permission (as long as he doesn’t know exactly how much you have spent on the holidays, that is).
I have a retraction from my post on Dr. Haushka beauty products. Many of them list silk and beeswax in the ingredients. Though they do not test on animals or use “mammal” ingredients, hence, they do have some animal ingredients. I want to thank Candi for her great post about vegan cosmetics. I would definitely check it out and read through some of the comments. Lot’s of great information.
Hold onto your animals, Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez are launching a new fashion line together entitled Rock and Republic. Both are known for sporting leather and fur, and by the name of it, I am guessing that this line will have it’s fair share of “unfriendly” clothing.
I get so excited when eco-fashion gets noticed on mainstream fashion blogs. Style Guru recently did a full post on eco-fashion, providing links to some of the top eco-fashion designers. Kudos to Style Guru, I loved the post. Check out Eco Fashion is Hip and Hot.
Another great blog that has mentioned Eco Fashion is The Runway Scoop posting on More Companies Becoming Aware of Eco-Fashion.
Okay, one final tidbit of gossip before I return to the subject of Christmas. It appears that Lindsay Lohan has been signed as the new face of Italian Fashion House Miu Miu. I am sorry to read this. I do not think that Lindsay Lohan has the style or class to be the fashion face of any company, but to each there own. I am sure the company has their reasons for this decision.
Okay, the number one item on my Christmas list this year, you guessed it, Vegan Boots. And these beauties absolutely top my list:
I love the sleek design and the hardware detailing of these beautiful Maria boots by MIA. It gives them a chic rocker look, that is still totally classy. Let me know what tops your Christmas list this year.
