Sustainable Fashion
Okay, I just watched Blood Diamond this weekend, and I think next to Hotel Ruwanda, it had to have been one of the saddest movies I have ever seen. I felt so disgusted afterward. How anyone can purchase diamonds that they cannot guarantee as being conflict-free after watching that movie would be beyond me. The movie was 2 and 1/2 hours long and I never once felt bored watching it. It certainly made me give more thought as to where my clothes are coming from. So this week I feel inspired to post about some more sustainable, eco-friendly clothing that isn’t harmful to people or the environment.
Today I found some fabulous tote bags for carrying all of your important papers to and from work or school. Made out of bamboo and fabric these bags are both fashionable and sustainable. Bamboo is one of the most sustainable materials on earth.
I am not sure which bag I like best. I really like the green and brown combo on this Twisted Orchid Bamboo Tote with Sage Fabric. It is a great combination.
But this Twisted Orchid Bamboo and Fabric Handbag is so versatile it would go with everything. I love the Asian influence in the design of this bag.

Finding fashionable items that are vegan, eco-friendly, and truly cruelty-free to both animals and humans can be a challenge. Luckily there is a greater demand for it, so it is becoming more available then before. This is an exciting time to be a woman.
