They have stores all of the US and other parts of the world and you can order online. In this video the items that really stood out for me were the gold bangle jewelry and of course the HOT shoes.  I was super excited to find out they have a store close to me in Austin, TX.

So besides making great quality products their bags look fashion fab! One of my favorites is Goldfrapp purse.  It is a bright green and looks a little distressed. Bright colors are in! Some of their main colors this season are green, white and papaya. The average price for a bag is about $100. Personally, I think its well worth it when you have people that are doing what they can to help Planet Earth and to helping others. There is no price high enough to save our precious planet.

PS – I did find one of their earlier mens wallets on e-bay and bought it, the wallet looks like real leather (but isn’t) and is made out of REALLY great quality material. Also, “the guy”, he LOVES it!

I know for the most part, people are good and most would help if they knew what to do. I understand that, because I myself am wondering what I can do to help. Of course, I have grandiose ideals of what I could do to end world hunger, if only I had unlimited funds and time. I am looking to you the reader’s of my blog for ideas of what we can do as a community to help other people. I do small things here and there, but that somehow does not seem to be enough when 20% of Americans are hungry. Buying a small bag of food will help someone, but on the grand scale is not enough. I want to do something great, and not just during the holiday season, but long-term.

I am open to all suggestions from others on ways to start a movement to help others.

I read another startling statistics. The poorest working Americans in our country contribute a greater percentage of their income to charity than the richest Americans. This is another statistic that makes me heart hurt. Once again, I don’t know if this is as much a matter of people not having good intentions, as much as a matter of not knowing what to do and how to help. Somehow we must work together to help people. No one should ever have to go to bed hungry. No child should feel stressed about holiday breaks, because the only food they get during the day comes from free lunch in the school cafeteria.

For the wonderful compassionate readers of this blog. Send me your ideas. Let’s pull our resources and ideas together and put food into the mouths of the hungry.

Let’s figure out ways to start community gardens, real community gardens, that people can feed their families from. Let’s figure out ways to start food carts that deliver food throughout town to people who are hungry, and those with money can contribute donations to keep the cart running. Let’s make a difference.

Anyway, back to fashion . . .  These Neuseta Boots from NAE (No Animal Exploitation) are so awesome and so in fashion right now. As I posted last week, the 70′s are back, and that means cool Boheme style. These boots would be perfect paired with a long, flowing skirt.

They are so Carly Simon.

I love this look. It makes me want to break out the peace sign necklaces and go to a free concert in the park.

My only concern about the upsurge of 70′s fashion is the amount of leather we will probably being seeing this spring. I have already seen many sites talking about leather pants and outfits. Luckily vegan designers are on the pulse of fashion these days and will make plenty of beautiful, trendy clothing.

I love this beautiful sequined, white cotton skirt. It incorporates two fashion rules for spring, Boheme and white. Love it. It looks like it belongs on the Venice Beach boardwalk.

Another trend I’m not too excited about, is the return of the clog. Those are about the ugliest imaginable shoes ever. If I had to go with a clog style shoe, this Unlisted East Side clog style sandals might be acceptable. Let me know your opinion, yeah or nah. The studded detailing has the look of a clog, but these shoes are way more stylish.

I hope everybody had an awesome holiday season. We really did have a lot of fun. I ate a ton of great food, got awesome presents, and best of all got to spend time with my son, doing fun things. We went to the snow and he learned to snowboard, we went hiking, we got to have a dinner date, and we watched lot’s of holiday movies. It was so awesome.

Anyway, for Christmas I got those great Garmont Vegan Hiking Boots that I posted about a couple of months ago. I tried them out last Thursday and they were so totally comfortable and awesome. They are a tad wide, so I had to be sure to tighten them well to avoid slippage going hill. Once tightened they were perfect.

Not everyone loves Uggs, but I was a huge fan. I grew up in a beach community and we have been wearing Uggs long before they became popular. Unfortunately, though incredibly warm, Uggs are not animal-friendly. What are animal-friendly, are awesome Skecher Keepsake Boiling Point boots, made of microfiber and faux fur lining. My brother got me a pair for Christmas and they keep my feet toasty warm. After spending the day in the snow, I slipped these boots on my feet and my feet were in heaven.

Christmas was all about new shoes for me, because I also got these awesome Croft and Barrow Jackie Tall Boots for Christmas (actually Christmas Eve, I needed something cute to wear to Mass). I love these boots. They were unbelievably comfortable right out of the box.

I also awesome St. John’s Bay 4-in-1 coat to wear to the snow. My son’s birthday is a couple of weeks away and we will be going back to the snow. This time, I will be taking snowboarding lessons myself and cannot wait to try this jacket out.

We are gathering items and training for a backpacking trip, so I also got a great sleeping bag, thermals, hiking socks, and a headlamp (so maybe, I shouldn’t admit to that one on a fashion blog). The sleeping bag only weighs 3 lbs and packs up very small. I am way excited to give it a try. Now, it just needs to stop raining nonstop. I’m not so worried about the cold, but I’m not too excited about major rainstorms, of which we have had more than enough here in California. We are not used to so much rain, and I am beginning to get a bit tired of it.

Now that the holidays are over, it is time to begin a post-holiday cleanse. I was supposed to start today, but there was fresh salsa at my mother’s and this is my total weakness. Okay, so the salsa wasn’t so much a big deal, as were the chips that I dipped into it. Otherwise, I ate broccoli, garlic, apples, and carrots today. I am aiming for two weeks of nothing but fruits and vegetables, with most of them being in their raw form. I will then begin adding some other raw foods, and adding small amounts of cooked food. Anyone else doing a cleanse? I’d love to hear from those who are, to read about what types of cleanse you are doing.

Vegan Barbecued Meatballs ~ The Perfect Appetizer

1 package vegan meatballs (Trader Joe’s makes an excellent one)

1 jar or container of natural barbecue sauce (once again Trader Joe’s makes an excellent one)

Put the meatballs and the barbecue sauce into a crockpot and heat on high for about 1 hour. You can let sit as long as you need on warm. Get some toothpicks and let your guests serve themselves some awesome barbecue flavored goodness. This is a recipe I got from my cousin. We went my aunt’s house for Christmas a couple of years ago and my cousin was sweet enough to make some vegan appetizers for me. My husband and I chowed down on these awesome little treats. This is a must make for either Christmas or New Year’s.

Speaking of holiday parties, no recipe screams holidays like spinach dip. This has been a family staple for  years, so I had to learn to veganize it. Of course this is a pretty easy recipe to veganize.

Vegan Spinach Dip

8 oz vegenaise

16 oz Tofutti sour cream

1 bunch green onions sliced into thin slices

1 package Simply Organic spinach dip mix

1 large sour dough bread bowl

1 box triscuits

It is important to make sure you make up the dip the night prior to your party so all the flavors have time to meld together. Mix vegenaise, sour cream, green onions and spinach dip mix together in a sealable down and let sit over night.

The day of the party, cut top off of bread bowl and tear out insides, making dipable-sized pieces. Fill inside of bread bowl with dip and serve with bread pieces and triscuits. This recipe is absolutely delish.

Enough ranting. I am still trying to put together my winter wardrobe. Yesterday I found a great work jacket, but every girl needs a great casual jacket and I have found the perfect one. Love this Hurley Winchester Sherpa Jacket. It is so fun. It looks so cozy and stylish. I give it two thumbs up.

It is definitely fall, and our weather has been teasing us. It will be warm for a couple of days, than cold and rainy, than clear and even colder. So of course, it is jacket hunting season and I found a really cute transitional coat by Hurley. It doesn’t look warm enough for the middle of winter, but would be perfect for the transition in and out of winter.

I could wear this Hurley Winchester Women’s Hooded Coat to work or for a casual day of shopping. It would be great with sleek black pants or with dress jeans. I cannot believe it is only $59.99 on Amazon. I want this jacket and may have to add to my Christmas ME shopping list.

There was a controlled burn that day and we say some amazing views of the smoke. It was wild to watch. It looked so alive. Luckily the burn is over now and everything was safe.

This is an amazing view from the peak of the mountain. We were able to see several towns away.

My dh wanted to be able to prove that we actually climbed over 1300 feet.

This is a picture from our decent back down the mountain. We are so lucky. We had such a beautiful backdrop for our hike. Now fashion can compare to the beauty of nature.

We had such a great time, we are hoping to go again next weekend.

Okay, so back to fashion, I found another great pair of boots by Madden Girl. These Madden Girl Sheldun boots may not be quite as warm as some of the other boots featured this week, but for those who don’t live in the snow, they certainly look as if they would keep your feet plenty warm. These would be so cute with a pair jeans and an oversized belted sweater, a la 80′s, which I hear is making a bit of a comeback.

To start my morning off right and make sure I have plenty of energy for the hike I had an Amy’s Tofu Scramble breakfast. Not quite as good as the Tofu Scramble I make (I will definitely post the recipe soon), but a suitable substitute. Being able to just pop the breakfast into the oven allowed me time to be able to get everything else ready for the hike.

I also had a vegan chocolate protein shake for a little extra nutrition. Have any of you ever tried out the Biochem 100% vegan protein shake. It is delicious. Just mix with rice milk and you have a nutritious snack. Love them.

Anyway, just wanted to do a quick check in before I head out. Hope everyone has an awesome day. I know I will.
